Description

Embodied Leadership Skills will support people committed to social change to lead with steadiness, connectedness, and purpose.

Rooted in the lineages of generative somatics and the Strozzi Institute, we’ll engage politicized embodied practices that connect you to what matters most and resource you to meet pressure with self-awareness and intentional action.

Over four weeks, this course will jumpstart your routine of daily somatic practice, and equip you with a plan for lasting change. You will leave with a deeper connection to your purpose, concrete skills for working with stress and conflict, and an embodied path for shifting long-held patterns toward healing, growth, and more sustainable leadership.

Through the series, you will:

  • Learn the foundations of generative somatics theory and practice

  • Create a commitment statement - a concise, powerful statement that describes what you long for in your life and/or communities - as well as a concrete plan of action for moving toward that commitment.

  • Build awareness of your automatic responses to pressure and how these show up in your life and work

  • Gain skills at returning to center in the face of activation

  • Practice embodied skills for effective communication and boundary setting

  • Build supportive relationships with a small group of fellow students

  • Establish a routine of daily somatic centering
